Along with our country economy rebounding, especially the further advance of urbanization, China steel pipe market demand will further improve in 2013, but the increment speed is likely to significantly reduce. It is expected that in 2013, the market demand for China steel pipes will be about 7.8 million tons, an increase of 3%, of whichseamless steel pipes account for 2.9 million tons, 4.9 million tons of welded steel pipes.It is anticipated that the export volume is approximate to 0.92 million tons, an increase of 4%, among which there are 540 thousand tons of seamless steel pipes, 380 thousand tons of welded steel pipes.

Data shows that in 2012, the output of China steel pipes reached 7.5951 million tons, an increase of 11.16% ;4.7754 million tons of welded steel pipes, up 12.6% ; 2.8197 million tons of seamless steel pipes,a rise of 8.8%; 886 thousand tons of steel pipes,up 5.28%, of which the exported seamless steel pipes reached  0.5167 million tons, up 6.13% year-on-year; 0.3694 million tons of weld steel pipes, up 4.12%.The insider reminded that on the whole although there was still a growth of the domestic market demand for steel pipes,the excessive capacity, homogenization, product quality and other issues appearing on the steel pipe industry would remain to be resolved.

Excessive capacity to be resolved. There is a low concentration, many small and scattered enterprises in China steel industry. For example, the sum of seamless steel pipe yeild ranking the top of 10 enterprises in China accounts for less than 40% total output of seamless steel pipes throughout the country, less than 20% that of welded steel pipe in China for welded steel pipe yeild ranking the top of 10 enterprises. Although the capacity utilization rate of China steel industry is in the lower limit of rational inter-region,there are great differences between industrial performance and the international market. Once insides argued that seeing that the actual situation of China steel pipe industry, more than 0.5 million tons of excess capacity need to be resolved at least.

Prevent homogenization phenomenon from spreading.Homogeneous  phenomenon in steel products originated in the low-end products,and gradually spread to the high-end products.Take seamless steel pipes for example, there are more than 30 MPM product lines that are all  positioned on the well tubulars, high pressure boiler tube,pipeline tube and other high-end products, so are some percentage of precise pipe mills and three-roll tube mills. There is a similar case in welded steel pipes industry that there are 25 LSAW pipe production line product at home which are all positioned in the high-end products. The homogenization of products extends to high-end products,as causes high added-value products to depreciate. Not only that, the homogenization phenomenon have already spread from the products to productivity layout, technologcial R & D, etc.  Industry experts suggested that steel pipe enterprises enhanced technological innovation capabilities, paid attention to  personalized,differentiation development on the base of product quality assurance.
